Develops technical content and provides technical review to support products, content on demand, communication and stakeholder engagement activities including the drafting of handbook commentary, developing training curriculum, writing articles and columns, writing blog posts, etc. Develops content for publication across various media including blogs, videos, mobile apps, print and audio. Develops, produces and delivers live and on demand presentations including NFPA Live, live and on-demand webinars, in-person presentations and delivery of training programs. Develops and completes the technical review of electrical training programs. Teaches NFPA seminars related to Electrical subject matter both in classroom and through distance learning. Hosts NFPA Live and enhanced how-to videos relating to Electrical subject matter; topics may include but are not limited to electrical installations, electrical safety, electrical maintenance, hazardous locations, alternative energy systems, PPE, industrial applications, and emerging technologies. Writes technically accurate explanatory content for handbooks, blogs, and articles. Responds to advisory questions that relate to multiple electrical topics through various media including phone, email, social media and other externally facing digital media and further develops content from those answers to produce enhanced and repurposed content such as video clips, diagrams, cartoons , etc. As a technical expert, answers inquiries, conducts research, and provides interpretations to committee and community members on Codes and Standards requirements. Interact with and responds to media inquiries as needed. Develops and/or revises training, presentations, handbooks or other documentation to explain the code and support use of the code by stakeholders. May serve as an Association spokesperson, attend stakeholder meetings, conferences and exhibitions and foster industry relationships to understand constituent s needs to aid in product development Provides input into budgeting activities Experience: 5 to 7 years of related experience. Education: Experience working as an Electrician is required. Vocational/Technical Degree/ Licensure or Equivalent is required. Licenses: professional certification or licensure in area of expertise is preferred. Knowledge of how to properly install electrical equipment in residential and commercial settings, industrial or hazardous locations experience is preferred. Knowledge of electrically safe work practices with emphasis on risk assessment. Knowledge of how to develop training materials is preferred. Experience in teaching, instruction or writing is a plus.
