We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to join our support staff and contribute in a variety of areas, including release management, monitoring, support, problem resolution, and server configuration for our vendor and custom built investment and trading applications that the group is responsible for. The shift for this role starts at 5:30 am EST.

Key Responsibilities: 
Be part of team providing front-line production support for software and data to all business user teams (Operations, Portfolio Managers, Compliance, Traders and others)
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems pertinent to our applications and collaborate with the application development teams or third-party vendors
Analyze problems with a mind for restoration of service and automated prevention in the future
Deploy software to DEV, QA, Production and DR environments by implementing and following a standard and repeatable deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
Handle ongoing configuration and data across all environments
Run source code repositories
Build and maintains knowledge base for trading and investment applications!

Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience with at least some of the following:
SQL, Shell scripting (bash), Python, Java, Spring Boot, messaging/streaming frameworks (JMS/Kafka), AWS, RESTful services, Gitlab, Configuration Automation (Chef, Puppet, Ansible), container technology (Docker, Podman), Jira, Confluence, JFrog Artifactory / Xray, SVN, Git, Gradle
Understanding of network concepts, TCP/IP stack and common Internet protocols
Familiarity with virtualization and containerization
Understanding of programming languages (Java, Python) and object oriented concepts
Understanding of relational databases, with emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server, data loading mechanisms and reporting
Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and software independently and quickly
Willingness to take initiative, seeing problems through to final completion
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines
Flexible/on call to support off hours project and problem issues
Experience with at least one distributed version control system (Git preferred)
Experience with multi-tier and multi-site software deployments
Experience in business continuity planning and implementation also helpful
Experience with change management policies and procedures also helpful
Must be detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of financial market data would be a major plus
Undergraduate degree or higher in a technical field
