WHAT YOU'LL DO The IT Lead Engineer I will be the Americas lead for the Design and Implementation and serve as an escalation point for any infrastructure service incidents and problems related to our global infrastructure services like - data center, office server platform, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc ). Though acting as a second level contact, the position will have in depth knowledge of end to end process and problem resolution. This engineer will be the primary contact for Linux support and escalation for all data center environments. The role expectation is a 60/40 split with Linux and Windows support respectively.
The Linux system administrator responsibilities play a pivotal role in the organization, as he/she is responsible for executing some major duties. The duties comprise installing the server system, doing configuration updating, operating and maintaining the system hardware as well as software, managing the failures in the system, etc. This professional also needs to troubleshoot and maintain the servers, the user accounts, security, etc., and is also responsible for managing the disk space as well as the back up. He/she is accountable for changing the contents of the file or its attributes like its ownership or permission and can delete any file even if it is write-protected. He/she resets new passwords and constantly monitors the special services and security of the servers as well.
Windows administrators are system administrators who specialize in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based servers. This role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel. Windows administrators also configure user access and maintain system stability and data security through deployment and migration. This role requires extensive familiarity with Windows servers and frequently involves both risk assessment and user support tasks. Windows administrators leverage their expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access. The position will work in close cooperation with colleagues in Europe and Asia, plus global vendors and service providers to support the Global Technology and Operations Team worldwide as part of a follow-sun operations group.
The position will be responsible for identifying any infrastructure service related issues, analyzing the root cause/area, prioritizing according to business impact and criticality of service, planning and implementing a solution in cooperation with our external partners and team.
The candidate will play a key role in BCG's continuing journey to modernize our data center services and automation processes. You will work closely with the team to strengthen our Cloud First - Cloud Smart initiative.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) Education/Experience:
B.A./B.S. degree in computer related field or professional certification in Microsoft and VMware operating systems.
5 or more years of experience with computer and infrastructure-related support with an acuity towards cloud computing
Strong organizational and documentation skills
MS Operating systems and technologies including Windows 2008, 2012, 2016
VMware ESX virtualization
Knowledge of MS IIS Web Services
Knowledge of MS SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016)
Knowledge of Linux operating systems (Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
Knowledge of IP Services (DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Awareness of IT security best practices
Knowledge of networking, IP, switches, servers, NICS
Knowledge of Active Directory for group and user rights
Knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, etc..) a plus
