Field and Safety Instruments (FSI) is a new group within Thermo Fisher Scientific that was established by the merger of two market-leading businesses. FSI is the leader in handheld spectrometers for a wide range of applications across industrial, life science manufacturing, safety/security, nuclear power, and healthcare.
FSIs Safety & Security Group is recognized as the worldwide leader in material analysis and is currently experiencing tremendous growth. We are in search of a Senior Group Marketing Manager to help lead the way.
**How will you make an impact?**
In this role, you will develop the long-term global strategy for the segment and grow the revenue and profitability for FSIs Safety & Security product portfolio. By discovering and delivering solutions to unmet market needs, you will help introduce and accelerate the revenue growth from our exciting new products.
You will report directly to the Director of Marketing for FSI and:
+ Oversee a robust team of Product Managers, MARCOM Specialists, and Subject Matter Experts. You will work to implement strategic marketing programs in regions around the world including demand generation campaigns, new product introductions, customer events, trade shows, and participating in government-sponsored technical evaluations.
+ Partner with our Global Sales Leaders, help identify and capture strategic wins with key government agencies around the world. In-person visits and discussions with key decision makers at the customer will be essential to achieving the groups vision.
+ Develop and lead a dynamic growth strategy covering existing and new markets for our Safety and Security products.
+ You will be responsible for strategy, product management, and marketing communications in the Safety & Security segment and be able to build, develop, and deliver results through a team.
+ You will be called on to develop the Safety & Security product roadmap as well as take ownership of new product launches including associated vitality revenue.
+ In addition to positioning the business for long-term growth and using youre your expertise on current market trends and competitive intelligence, you will build out a robust process for gathering and disseminating competitive intelligence to deliver important insight to the sales force.
+ You will communicate and present at many levels in many different arenas such that the strategies and plans developed at FSI headquarters are executed in practice in the field. Being able to accomplish tasks through a dedicated team is as important to success as influencing others across functions, regions, and business units.
+ Bachelors degree required; science or engineering area of study preferred.
+ MBA Highly desirable.
+ 5+ years of experience in a commercial marketing role with deep exposure to product management and within a similar product vertical. Preference for experience in radiation detection and/or chemical identification.
+ 3+ experience developing and managing a team of 3 or more.
+ Highly developed collaborative leadership skills including consensus building, information sharing, and communication of needs and priorities across functions.
+ Demonstrable project & product management skills.
+ Proven ability to communicate with confidence.
+ Demonstrable ability to drive results in a B2B environment (B2G a plus).
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills and executive presence.
+ A global commercial mindset, customer focus, and familiarity with best practices in product management.
+ Knows how to leverage customer, competitive, and market intelligence to drive growth.
+ A strong drive, follow-through, and attention to detail.
+ Problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
